Your privacy matters to us. This policy describes how CompileCareers handles your personal information.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information CompileCareers collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
2. Information we collect
Account details you provide, such as your name and email address.
Profile and hiring data you add, such as experience, qualifications, roles you post, applications, and interview materials.
Work you produce during an interview, such as notes you type and code you write for a coding question. This is saved with the interview record and is visible to the hiring team for that role.
Usage and device information, such as pages viewed and basic technical data, collected as you use the Service.
Communications you send us, such as enquiries and support messages.
If you sign in with a provider (for example Google, Apple, or LinkedIn), we receive basic profile information from that provider.
3. How we use your information
To provide, operate, and improve the Service; to run technical vetting and interviews and to match candidates with roles; to communicate with you; to keep the Service secure and prevent abuse; and to comply with our legal obligations.
4. How we share information
If you are a candidate, relevant profile and interview information may be shared with the hiring team for a role you choose to engage with.
We use trusted service providers (for example hosting and authentication providers) that process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights and users.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.
6. Data retention
We keep personal data for as long as needed to provide the Service and to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations, after which we delete or anonymise it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.
To request erasure of your account and the personal data we hold about you, email support@app-pollo.com. You do not need an account with us to make this request: if an employer added you as a candidate, you can ask us to remove your details the same way. We will respond within 30 days.
Some information may be kept after an erasure request where we are required to retain it, or where a hiring company needs to be able to justify a decision it has already made. Where that applies we remove what identifies you and tell you what was kept and why.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Where your data is stored
CompileCareers is based in the United Arab Emirates. Our systems run on Amazon Web Services in Stockholm, Sweden, so your information is stored in the European Union.
This means your data leaves the UAE. We rely on the European Union’s data-protection regime, which sets a standard comparable to the UAE’s, and on our agreements with the providers who process data for us. Those providers may only use it to run the Service for us, never for their own purposes.
Our sub-processors are Amazon Web Services (hosting and database), Amazon Cognito (sign-in), Daily.co (video calls), and Judge0 (running code you write during a coding interview). Daily.co carries the live call only — interviews are not recorded, and no audio or video is stored.
If you write code during a coding question, that code is sent to Judge0 to be compiled and run, and the result is sent back to you and your interviewer. Only the code and the choice of language are sent — your name, email and the rest of your profile are not. It is sent so that the Run and Run tests buttons can work, and for no other purpose.
If you would like more detail about the safeguards for a specific transfer, email support@app-pollo.com and we will explain them.
10. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
